How does the treatment work?

Light is emitted from our IPL system and is used to directly target the affected area. With this targeting, we are able to reduce the amount of active lesions as well as improving skin texture and reducing break-outs.

Am i suitable for treatment?

Our IPL Acne treatment is suitable for almost all of our clients apart from very dark skinned or tanned individuals. Also if you are pregnant or taching the Roaccutane acne medication it is recommended that you do not undergo this treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Areas of acne that a treated with IPL can become quite red immediately after the treatment but this usually dissapears within a couple of hours. Most of our clients experience no other side effects, but a very small blister could form or the skin may become temporarily lighter or darker.

What should I expect after IPL treatment?

Immediately after your IPL treatment your skin may appear red and a warm tingling sensation may be felt by you. The skin is cooled to ease any discomfort and a calming gel is applied to the area treated by IPL.

How long is each treatment and how many are required?

Each IPL acne treatment that we provide at is approximately 30 minutes in length. The number of treatments necessary varies from person to person, but typically 6 treatments will result in a significant improvement in a clients acne.
