We offer A wide variety of Vascular Laser Treatments in and around the Plymouth Area.

Vascular IPL Laser Treatments

Here at Plymouth Laser Clinic we perform a wide variety of different vascular treatments which are conducted by IPL Laser. IPL Laser Treatment is highly effective in treating specific conditions such as Rosacea, Port- wine stains, Spider Naevi, Campbell De Morgan Spots, Telangiectasia – commonly known as red thread veins and Poikiloderma of Civatte.

IPL has also been shown to be safe and effective in treating specific concerns. IPL is a specific form of laser light therapy. However, whereas laser emits light at one specific wavelength, IPL produces a spectrum from different wavelengths. This means that it can select different targets for absorption, making it a versatile treatment option that can treat a range of issues.

Rosacea

This is a common inflammatory condition of the skin which often results in a red facial flush and accompanying telangiectasia. Rosacea responds well to IPL treatment but cannot be cured. Maintenance treatments are often necessary to control it.

Port Wine Stains

A port-wine stain usually presents as a large flat patch of pink, red or purple skin with well-defined borders. At birth, the surface is flat but in time may become thickened and darker in colour. Facial lesions tend to respond best to treatments with IPL.

Poikiloderma of Civatte

Poikiloderma of Civatte is a condition that affects the neck and chest, resulting in mottled pigmentation, dilation of fine blood vessles and a change to the skin texture. It is caused by exposure to sunlight and responds well to IPL treatment.

Spider Naevi

A spider naevus has a central red papule with feeding capillary legs. If the central vessle is depressed, the lession will blanch. They commonly occuur on the face or on the back of hands. It is know to respond well to IPL treatment.

VASCULAR LASER TREATMENT FAQ'S

How does treatment work?

Our treatment works by applying intense pulsed light (IPL) which is used to perform various aesthetic treatments to improve a number of skin concerns.

Intense pulsed technology is a highly versatile, safe, and effective modality for the treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions, hypertrichosis, and epidermal and dermal atrophy associated with photoaging, as well as acne, rosacea and actinic keratoses.

Are there any side effects?

After the vascular laser treatment, your treated area may feel warm for 1-2 hours. Delicate skin may appear red and swollen for up to 48 hours and although rare, a small blister may form as well as temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.
